THE home of Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher has not been searched.
This was confirmed in a release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Saturday after a social media post that the top cop’s residence was searched and large sums of cash were allegedly discovered.
The release stated, “… the TTPS categorically refutes these claims and wishes to inform the public that no such search has taken place, nor has any sum of money been found at the Commissioner’s residence.
“While the firearms importation investigation led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence and
Investigations, Suzette Martin is ongoing, these allegations are entirely false and misleading.
“The TTPS urges the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information and to refrain from spreading unconfirmed reports that may create unnecessary alarm and panic. All official updates will be communicated through the Corporate Communications Unit of the TTPS.”
