NO additional lands are to be acquired for the construction of the new terminal building at the ANR Robinson International Airport.
This was confirmed in a release by the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) on Wednesday.
It stated that all the lands required for this project were approved by Cabinet in September 2018and fell into two categories:
- 53 acres of land between Store Bay Local Road and the ANR Robinson International Airport perimeter fence, in the Bon Accord Area – private lands being acquired via the compulsory land acquisition process (orange in the map above);
- 12 acres of land between Crompstan Trace and the ANR Robinson International Airport perimeter fence, in the Bon Accord Area, which was acquired by the State in 1996, but never vacated (in blue).
It noted that the Airport Access Road will be designed and constructed by the Ministry of Works and Transport.
The Airport Access Road project is independent of the construction of the terminal building, the release stated.
