SAN FERNANDO – THE public will not be allowed access on Saturday to the San Fernando Hill for the fireworks display to celebrate Trinidad and Tobago’s 57 years of independence from British rule.

This announcement was made by San Fernando Mayor Junia Regrello at the statutory meeting of the San Fernando City Corporation on Wednesday.

He said, “We all know that the end of August brings with it the celebration of our independence.

“Therefore, in the spirit of celebration, I would like to thank ANSA McAl for once more ensuring that San Fernando is not left out by sponsoring the fireworks on the San Fernando Hill from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

“The public is hereby advised that there will be no access to the top of San Fernando Hill and should seek alternative vantage points in the interest of their safety.”
