TRINIDAD-born rapper Nicki Minaj is in town.
She announced her arrival via a video on her Instagram account on Sunday.
She said, “Hello Trinidad. We’ve arrived. We’re here, Trinidad.”
Minaj is in Trinidad and Tobago with her husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty.
Born Onika Tanya Maraj, she was also in Trinidad in 2012 to shoot her music video Pound the Alarm. The video recreated scenes of Carnival featuring dancing, carnival characters and local artists as Bunji Garlin and Machel Montano.
Also in town for Carnival 2020, is American rapper and actor Christopher Brian Bridges, popularly known as Ludacris.
Reports stated that he was seen performing some of his major hits at Soca Brainwash on Saturday.
In addition to posting pictures with the recently married Soca star Machel Montano, Ludacris was also seen posing with Usain Bolt, the Jamaican-born sprinter who is also in Trinidad for Carnival.
