New Top Cop Warns Parents

COMMISSIONER of Police Allister Guevarro is telling parents that the future of the nation is in their hands.

Guevarro is also making it clear that if parents cannot control their children, the police will get involved.

The commissioner was speaking on Tuesday at his appointment ceremony, held at the Police Barracks, St James.

Towards the end of his address, Guevarro said, “I want to use my couple of minutes here remaining, to send a clariant call all the parents in the national looking on, that listen, the future of our nation does not rest in your child’s school bag, it rests in your hands as the parent, because you need to take control of your children.”

Guevarro said, “I have been looking on for the past couple of months and I have been seeing several acts of violence engaging public and media attention about school violence and bullying.”

He said, “Under my watch that will never happen!”

Addressing parents he said, “I want to make you a promise here today. If you cannot control your children, we will, the TTPS will confine them.”

Guevarro, a parent himself, later introduced his two daughters as he thanked them, along with his wife for their support and continued understanding.
