NATIONAL Quarries Company Limited (NQCL) focuses on improving operational efficiency and targeting key areas for development to support long-term viability.
A meeting was held with Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jearlean John and members of the executive team to discuss the company’s operational landscape, financial performance, human resource structure, and strategic direction.
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in media release on Tuesday stated that the focus was placed on modernisation and expansion of the Limestone and Sand and Gravel Divisions.
The acting CEO of NQCL presented initiatives to modernise operations, including plant upgrades, accurate reserve estimates, and proposed land acquisition to expand limestone production.
These initiatives are expected to increase market share and reinforce economic viability.
John reaffirmed her support for transforming NQCL into a more agile, efficient and competitive enterprise.
She emphasised the need to review the business model to meet the evolving needs of the local and regional construction sectors.
NQCL’s focus on strategic expansion and sustainability is expected to help meet demand for construction materials and build a more resilient Trinidad and Tobago.
