SENATOR David Nakhid says he will not allow anyone to unfairly treat Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
He is further accusing the “Port of Spain elite” and the People’s National Movement of trying to create a narrative to promote racial discord.
In a video posted to Minister in the Ministry of Housing Anil Roberts Douglar Politics YouTube Page, Nakhid said, “Don’t feel I will allow Port of Spain and the elites of Port of Spain, and the black bourgeois class to feel they could be unfair and unjust to the United National Congress, especially to the prime minister.”
He continued, “Let me tell all yuh something, you see that little Indian woman she take real plenty, she take real plenty from all yuh, from Rowley, from Al-Rawi, all these hypocritical dogs who playing now they coming in the defence of black people and in the defence of poor and working-class people.”
Regarding mistreatment, misogyny and racism being meted out against the prime minister, Nakhid referred to letter he saw discussing the Kamla Persad-Bissessar, which he said was full of “misogynistic statements” along with a “very heavy dose of racist dog whistling.”
In response, Nakhid said, “I not allowing that, I fighting back, I telling all yuh African people if you get PNM to tie all yuh up again, to put you all in the same position all yuh have been in for the last sixty-something years then the blame is on allyuh, not on Al-Rawi and them.”
Taking aim at Opposition Leader Penelope Beckles, he said, “Even you Penelope Beckles, I have to say shame on you, shame on you, talking about we are a wicked government. We? When you allowed ten years of Rowley, how many black women Rowley destroyed?”
He added, “So you calling us wicked, you call the UNC wicked, after you the state of the country under the PNM, especially for our people on the east west corridor. Penny miss we with that.”
Nakhid said, “But you see all yuh in town, allyuh not setting no narrative for the population right now. All yuh setting no narrative cause all yuh feel all yuh missing out on the treasury, that all yuh tief out. All yuh coming out to go against and be racist against Kamla Persad-Bissessar.”
He said despite the words and actions of the PNM Opposition the UNC Government would continue to fight for the poor, working class and overlooked communities in society.
Nakhid said, “And we going into the communities and we letting all these communities know, that under the UNC there will be equity, there will be income redistribution, we will make sure everybody gets proper education.”
Ending his video, he issued a stern warning to members of the opposition, saying, “So, you see all yuh POS elites with that narrative you trying to set already, to try to rile up black people, we not having it this rounds. All yuh take advantage of black people enough to make other communities wealthy.”
