THE 53-year-old suspect who was being held by police for the murder of autistic 15-year-old Malini Persad has allegedly committed suicide.
Avinash Kotai, was found hanging from a noose fashion from his clothing at the Barrackpore Police Station where he was being kept around 8 am. on Saturday.
Kotai, who is from Barrackpore, was arrested on Wednesday following Persad’s disappearance last Sunday.
Reports are when police officers went to check on him on Saturday, his body was found.

While the suspect has died, social media users felt it was the easy way and the “coward way out.”
One posted, “He to take the easy way out, but hell awaits him it will be worse than what you had to face here on earth.
Another labelled him “a monster.”
“There is no justice in him taking his own life he deserves to be punish for what he did,” was another comment.
On Thursday, Persad’s decomposing body was found in Barrackpore by a search team led by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by captain Vallence Rambharat.
An autopsy is expected to be done on Tuesday.
