FOLLOWING a lack of pipe-borne water supply, residents of Penal\Debe have been promised more water trucks.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) in a release on Thursday stated it has been liaising with the Penal Debe Regional Corporation to address requests for truck borne service for customers affected.

The affected areas include Mohess Road/Extension, Jamoonie Trace, Chitar Trace, Panoo Trace, Old Mohess Road, Sanahie Trace/Branch, Ramdhanie Trace and  Laltoo Trace/ Extension, in Debe which are supplied by the Navet and Caroni pipeline  transmission networks.

WASA said these communities were usually scheduled to receive a supply on rotation every nine days, however  the ongoing effects of the harsh dry season has since impacted the Authority’s cut-back in production and their  ability to upkeep these schedules.

WASA has operationalised its Call Centre to 24 hours per day and increased the number of customers service representatives, which has  significantly decreased the wait time for customers desirous of contacting the Authority.
