THE Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has updated the Adverse Weather Alert #2 – Yellow Level for Trinidad and Tobago.
MET Office stated that the alert has now been issued 9.55am today (Wednesday) to 6pm.
TTMS indicated that, “A very active Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), is producing widespread showers and thunderstorm activity with associated downpours and gusty winds across Trinidad. Street flooding and localized flooding will continue. Landslides and landslips are possible in areas so prone. Smaller watercourses are near threshold capacity but major rivers continue to be contained at this time.”

Forecast: Partly cloudy/cloudy periods with showers, especially over Trinidad and favouring the morning and early afternoon. There is also a medium – high chance of thunderstorm activity. Tonight will be generally fair apart from isolated showers.
Remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Generally hazy and breezy with the likelihood of showers over few areas, especially over the southern Windwards.
Caution: Adverse Weather Alert #1 (Yellow Level) remains in effect until 6pm. Street\flash flooding and localized ponding are likely in heavy downpours.
