FIVE-year-old Jenysa Alleyne has been found alive.
She went missing on Friday after being washed down in a river behind her grandmother’s home at Carapal Road in Erin.
The Hunters Search and Rescue Team found her lying on the bank of a river near the beach in Los Iros Road, Erin.
She is said to have held on to a branch of a tree on the edge of the river.
Jenysa is autistic and does not speak.
Hunters Search and Rescue team leader Vallence Rambharat found the child just before 8 am on Saturday about six miles from her home.
Video footage of the reunion showed the child’s mother screaming in joy when she saw her child.
In a post on Facebook on Saturday morning, Rambharat said, “I remained speechless for what seem like an eternity. At 7.50 am this morning, Hunters Search and Rescue Team gave Trinidad and Tobago reason to believe that there is always hope. My teammates uphold a very high standard and remains the most passionate and humble individuals I have met. This morning was nothing else but a MIRACLE. GOD IS GREAT.
