ALL did not entirely go well at the Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM) finals on Saturday night.
A few of the artistes complained about not being able to hear their voices when singing while many more in the listening and viewing audience complained that the sound was low.
The event took place at Skinner Park, San Fernando.
At one point, all sound stopped altogether when an issue occurred with the generator. The incident occurred when the last competitor Vanessa Ramoutar was performing alongside Olatunji Yearwood.
When the music stopped, many patrons walked out of the main party area.
After about 20 minutes, everything was back to normal with DJ Anna and Simmo entertaining prior to the announcement of the results.
Drupatee Ramgoonai, who aided Chutney Soca King Machel Montano, told AZP News, “I did not hear properly when I now started,” but the problem was soon fixed.
Also complaining was Wackerman Kerron Williams who said he had difficulty during his performance. He shouted “sabotage” and then started over his song.
However, persons watching the event online complained the most, especially as the live stream ended after Ramoutar’s performance not streaming the guest performances by DJ Anna and Simmo and Ravi B with his band Karma.
