A Riverine flood alert which was issued since 2pm on Wednesday into Saturday has been discontinued to a Green Level.
In a 9.54am update, the Trinidad and Tobago Metrological Service (TTMS) stated that, “The major river courses are well within their banks at this time and the threat of further riverine flooding has decreased considerably. Some locations remain waterlogged, but this should improve with time. Isolated heavy showers and/or thunderstorms can however slow this process.”
The public is asked to continue to monitor the TTMS via official channels for the latest updates.
Heavy rains on Wednesday causes flooding in many low lying areas across the country.
