Met Office Discontinues Adverse Weather Alert

AN adverse weather alert which was issued for Friday into Saturday has been discontinued.

In an 6am update, the Trinidad and Tobago Metrological Service (TTMS) stated that, “Though lingering showers are still expected, the threat of significant impactful weather has substantially decreased.”

In addition, the threat of further localised flooding has also decreased while the levels of major river courses are high, however they are expected to decrease through the day.

The public is asked to continue to monitor the TTMS via official channels for the latest updates.

FORECAST: Mostly cloudy with intermittent periods of rain/showers in broad areas. There is a high (80%) chance of showers becoming heavy and thundery in a few areas. Gusts and street/flash flooding can be expected in heavy downpours.
