Mayaro Man Charged for Murder

A 35-YEAR-OLD Mayaro man has been charged for the murder of a woman last month.
Samuel Paul was charged for the murder which occurred on June 17. He will also answer to a possession of firearm charge.
Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Dougadeen- Jaglal gave the advice for his arrest on Monday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated in a media release.

 According to a police report at approximately 3.30 pm on  June 17, loud explosions were reported at LP 54 Church Road, Mayaro.
Police responded and arrived at the scene about 10 minutes later where they discovered the motionless body of a brown-skinned female of mixed descent, clad in orange short pants and a cream T-shirt.
She was seated in the front middle seat of a white MG vehicle, which was parked under a shed facing west.

 The victim was slumped toward the driver’s side, with multiple apparent gunshot damages observed on the vehicle’s windscreen and both front doors.
The suspect was arrested on June 30, following extensive investigations led by PC Gillead and under the direction of ASP Victor, W/Insp Sylvester, Sgt Ramoutar and PC Subiar of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II.

A file was compiled and submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Paul is expected to appear before a magistrate tomorrow, the TTPS stated.
