THE Government has declared May 2 as a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr
The announcement was made via the Office of the Prime Minister in a statement on Thursday.
The release stated that the Cabinet advised Her Excellency President Paula-Mae Weekes, that Monday, 2 May 2022 be declared a holiday in accordance with the Public Holidays and Festivals Act.
Eid-ul-Fitr is observed by the Muslim community globally and marks the end of fasting in the month of Ramadan.
