A 70-YEAR-OLD pensioner who allegedly sexually touched a minor was granted bail.
The man from Princes Town was granted bail with surety in the sum of $150,000 after he appeared in court this week charged with one count of Indecent Assault against a minor.
He appeared before Magistrate Taramatie Ramdass in the Princes Town First Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
He was granted bail and the matter adjourned to December 14, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated on Friday.
The victim reported to police that while at the New Grant home of a relative, a male suspect allegedly asked her to have sex with him. When she refused, the man allegedly touched several parts of her body.
Investigations supervised by Supt Claire Guy-Alleyne, acting Insp Ramphal and Sgt Andrews, all of Special Victim Department (SVD), resulted in the arrest of the suspect last Monday.
The accused was charged with the offence by Cpl Thompson, also of SVD.
