A 24-YEAR-OLD man who beat his teenaged girlfriend is on the run from police.
He has been on the run since Sunday after allegedly beating his 17-year-old girlfriend with a cutlass causing her to be hospitalised.
The suspect is from Plaisance Park, Pointe-a-Pierre.
Reports are that the teenager was at her boyfriend’s home on Sunday when they got into an argument around 3.40 pm during which the man allegedly beat her with a cutlass causing injury to her head and arms.
He then locked her inside the house and fled the scene. The victim managed to escape through a window and alerted neighbours who contacted the police.
PCs Smith and Parbhu of the St Margaret’s Police Station responded and searched for the suspect but were unsuccessful.
The victim who is from Battoo Avenue, Marabella, remains in serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.
