LUNCHTIME showers caused flash flooding in several parts of northern Trinidad on Monday.
Last Friday, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) advised that more rain was expected in the early part of this week as there was to be “a continued increase in low level convergence of moisture across Trinidad and Tobago.”
Its Monday morning report stated, “Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected with occasional light to moderate showers or periods of rain occurring in varying localities.”
By 12.45 pm, flooding was reported by persons on social media in areas such as several streets in Port of Spain, Woodbrook, Tunapuna, Carenage and Cocorite as well as Southern Main Road, Claxton Bay.
