“The area of disturbed weather is currently producing disorganised showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are, however, marginally conducive for development over the next few days.”

Also at  8 am,  the National Hurricane Center had given the system  a 30% chance of developing into a Tropical Depression over 48 hours and 60% over the next seven days.

At this time, the Met Office stated the system poses no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago.

“Although moderate/heavy showers,  isolated thunderstorms and accompanying gusty winds are in the initial outlook for mid week.”

TTMS will continue  to monitor this area of low pressure and will issue an update at 8 pm or earlier if the situation warrants.

Therefore, the public is reminded that a Tropical Storm warning remains in effect for Trinidad, while Tobago remains under a Hurricane Warning and should monitor www.metoffice.gov.tt for updates.
