LOU DOBBS, the conservative political pundit and veteran cable TV host known for his influential presence on CNN and later Fox Business Network, has passed away at the age of 78.
Dobbs’ death was announced via a post on his official X account on Thursday, which described him as a “fighter till the very end – fighting for what mattered to him the most, God, his family, and the country.” The post did not specify a cause of death.
Dobbs was a founding anchor for CNN, where he established his reputation before moving to Fox Business Network. He hosted “Lou Dobbs Tonight” from 2011 until 2021, cementing his place as a nightly fixture for viewers seeking conservative commentary.
A statement from Fox News Media expressed the network’s sorrow over Dobbs’ passing, praising his contributions to the field of cable news. “An incredible business mind with a gift for broadcasting, Lou helped pioneer cable news into a successful and influential industry. We are immensely grateful for his many contributions and send our heartfelt condolences to his family,” the statement read.
The announcement on Dobbs’ official X account also called for prayers for his wife Debi, children, and grandchildren.
