A lift holding cases of water collapsed, injuring two people at the office of the United National Congress (UNC) candidate for Tunapuna Roger Alexander on Friday morning.
This was confirmed by Alexander who said two people were injured and taken to the hospital. He said the incident occurred around 11 am at his office on the Eastern Main Road in Tunapua.

In a telephone interview with AZP News, he said one person sustained injuries to his feet and the other to his back.
Alexander said, “Thankfully, the injuries were not life-threatening.”
He said the lift had the capacity for 200 cases, but there were only 58 cases on it at the time.
Alexander said he was looking after the welfare of the injured men.
