THE Ministry of Education announces that migrant children from Venezuela will get “Letters of Admissions” to start school in September 2024.
This initiative follows the Immigration (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2024 and is designed to provide educational opportunities to Venezuelan nationals under the age of 18, whose parents or legal guardians have registered under the Migrant Registration Framework since 2019,a release from the ministry stated on Friday.
It stated that the guidelines for this admission process were developed in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security to ensure a smooth integration of these children into the local education system.
The Ministry of Education will host a ceremony on Monday at 11 am, where “Letters of Admission” will be presented to the successful students.
The event will take place at the Ministry of Education’s Conference Room 2, Level 4. Both the Minister of Education, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, and Minister in the Ministry of Education Lisa Morris-Julian will be in attendance.
Following the ceremony, Dr Gadsby-Dolly, Morris-Julian, and senior executives of the Ministry of Education will hold a media conference.
