THE People’s National Movement (PNM) government has now given Trinidad and Tobago a bad reputation with the United States government led by US President Donald Trump.
This after the failure by government to have the Dragon gas deal licence continued.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Stuart Young announced that the licence was revoked by Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

On Tuesday evening, the Opposition’s shadow minister for energy and energy affairs David Lee said the record under former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley and Young has been destructive for the economy.
He said, “They have exposed our country and given us a bad reputation with that Trump administration.”
Lee who is the UNC candidate for Caroni Central in the General Election was speaking at a UNC community meeting in Marabella.
He was not originally carded to be at the event but was bombarded by media calls for comments on the issue.
Lee also stated, “We are not gloating over this event.”
He however, reminded citizens that the Opposition warned the government, “Do not put all your eggs in the basket of (Nicholas) Maduro.”
Lee made reference to Dr Rowley’s statements made last month concerning the Dragon gas deal.
Dr Rowley said, “If you see us losing that OFAC licence, as you will see in the news if that happens, then you know that your coo coo is cooked. If you see the Venezuelans not allowing us to use the Dragon field, then you know that we are in difficulty.”
Lee told supporters, “I think Rowley and Stuart Young coo coo really cook today!”
He said he could not understand why people were still doubting UNC political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
“Everything she has exposed has come to pass and we keep doubting that lady Kamla Persad-Bissessar.”
