THE body of diver Rishi Nagassar has been recovered.
It was recovered at 12.36 am on Thursday, a release from Paria Fuel Trading Company Ltd issued at 12.45 am stated.
Nagassar’s body was the only one left to be found as the bodies of Fyzal Kurban, Yusuf Henry and Kazim Ali Jr were discovered on Monday. Christopher Boodram is the sole survivor of the incident.
The company stated, “The recovery operation had to be conducted with extreme care given the fact that the bodies were lodged behind diving equipment in a 30-inch pipeline, 60ft below the surface and more than 100ft along the seabed.”
Paria stated that Nagassar’s family has been notified of the recovery and extended condolences on behalf of the management and staff.
Paria also stated that counselling support has been offered to all the family members of the four underwater divers who have died.
An independent investigation into the entire incident is expected to be conducted.
And nighttime vigils continue in memory of the men who died in the line of duty as calls continue for the board of Paria to be removed for the manner in which the tragedy was handled.
Fire them all and bring charges ax against them all for murder.
