La Horquetta on Five Charges for Home Invasion

A La Horquetta manĀ  has been denied bail for five charges after appearing before a master.

On Monday, Quinnce Billouin, of Phase 7, La Horquetta, appeared before High Court Master Lisa Singh-Phillip to answer on charges relating to a home invasion on November 22.

A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Tuesday, stated Billouin was charged with Robbery with Aggravation, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Dangerous Driving, and Common Assault.

Billouin was not called upon to plead and was denied bail.

The TTPS release stated charges against Billouin stemmed from a report of an armed robbery in La Horquetta. The victim stated she was seated in a Hyundai Elantra, valued at $35,000, when she approached by an armed man, who announced a robbery. The suspect relieved the victim of her vehicle and escaped with an accomplice.

Billouin was subsequently arrested and charged with the offences relating to his crime.

Meanwhile in Maloney, the TTPS issued ten fixed penalty notices on Monday for failure to wear seatbelts.

The TTPS stated officers attached to the Maloney Police Station conducted a roving traffic operation within the district.

Officers completed eight stop-and-search forms and issued ten fixed penalty notices for failure to wear seatbelts, stated the TTPS.

The TTPS noted of these ten fixed penalty notices, seven were issued to drivers and three were issued to passengers.

They called on citizens to wear their seatbelts and reminded the public that the failure to wear a seatbelt while a vehicle was in motion was a $1000 fine.
