ALMOST one week before the national Budget is announced, major bread maker Kiss Baking Company Ltd has raised its prices.
The new prices came into effect on Monday and supermarkets and shops were served with a letter of notification.
Last week, their cake prices were also increased by at least 50 cents.
In its letter signed by its general manager, Kiss stated, “Kiss Baking Company Limited recognises that our country is facing enormous economic challenges. Unfortunately, we are facing unprecedented increases in our input costs. Raw material prices have escalated by as much as 30% in some instances. We have also seen increases in shipping costs as a result of continued strains placed on supply chains throughout the world due to Covid-19 lockdowns.
The company continued, “We have performed an in-depth examination of our internal processes in order to implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service and to minimise the impact of rising costs on our customers. While we have been able to maintain the prices of our core bread products such as sandwich loaves, butter bread and hops, unfortunately, we are forced to increase the price on a few others.”
The products with price increases are:
Healthy Balance 12 Grain – $17
Healthy Balance Whole Grain – $16
True Wheat – $16
True White – $15
Kiss Coconut Buns – $15
Healthy Balance Jumbo Wholegrain Buns – $14.50
Kiss Jumbo Hamburger Buns – $14.50
Kiss Jumbo Hot Dog – $14.50
