“We are not power hungry. We work for our space and place in the UNC,” she said.

John then shot verbal arrows in the direction of her female opponent for the post of deputy political leader Member of Parliament for Tabaquite Anita Haynes.

Stating she visited Tabaquite for a meeting on Wednesday, she said there was no place more lovely in Trinidad and Tobago except for Charlotteville in Tobago. John was born in Tobago.

Alluding to Haynes John said, “How you could get a seat like Tabaquite and you ain’t happy? I don’t understand this… I don’t know how you could be in Tabaquite and eh love it.”

Tabaquite was a place full of promise, the food basket of the nation, she said, that was in need of further development, proper roads and a crackdown on praedial larceny as these were problems faced by the farmers in the constituency.
