TRINIDAD and Tobago is keeping pace with the digital age, says Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as she praises her government’s thrust to modernise the country’s systems.

Taking to X on Wednesday evening, Persad-Bissessar celebrated T&T “moving forward and keeping pace with the digital age.”

Her post comes hours after Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander launched the Online Arrival and Departure Card Platform, an online system eliminating the need for paper-based immigration documents.

Alexander, speaking at the launch, said, “This a new chapter in our book. We have created somewhat of a history today, from where we were to where we are going.”

Persad-Bissessar wrote, “An online Arrival and Departure Card platform will be implemented, making travel into and out of our country faster and more efficient.”

Further highlighting T&T’s digital transformation, Persad-Bissessar stated, “Additionally, the laws of Trinidad and Tobago will be available online, giving citizens, businesses and the wider public easier access to important legal information.”

Persad-Bissessar stated, “These initiatives mark another step in modernising our systems, improving access to information and delivering more efficient public services.”
