PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is reconfirming Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to collaboration with Jamaica, as she congratulates Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness on his reelection.

In a media release on Thursday, the Prime Minister extended her congratulations to Holness saying, “I offer my sincere congratulations to you on behalf of the government and people of Trinidad and Tobago on your historic third consecutive victory at the polls and your ascension once more to the esteemed office of the Prime Minister of Jamaica.”

Persad-Bissessar said, “This decisive and overwhelming victory is a true testament to the confidence and trust the people of Jamaica placed in your leadership once more and of your dedication to serving your nation with boundless faith to make the lives of all Jamaicans more prosperous and progressive, considering the many challenges we face globally.”

Commenting on the long-standing bilateral relationship T&T shares with Jamaica and the roles they both play within CARICOM, the Prime Minister reconfirmed T&T’s commitment to continuous collaboration.

Persad-Bissessar said, “My government remains committed to continued collaboration with Jamaica on matters of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, regional security, and international representation.”

“Honourable Prime Minister-designate, I am truly proud to welcome you back to the fold of leaders within the CARICOM community, and I wish you and your government all the best,” she ended.
