OPPOSITION Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s contributions are being described as valuable to women, giving them an equal and full voice.
This according to a release from the United National Congress (UNC) Women’s Arm stated on Monday commemorating Persad-Bissessar 12th anniversary as the political leader of the UNC.
She was described as an incredible role model for women and girls and served as an inspiration across countries and regions.
The release added that Persad-Bissessar demonstrated this through her life and work, and her leadership in governance, diplomacy, social norm change and political game-changing for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
It stated, “That woman make a difference! Not just a small difference, but a big and critical one.”
The Women’s Arm stated, “Persad-Bissessar is a woman that has broken glass ceilings, has pushed the frontiers of women’s leadership and has paved the path for other women and girls to follow in their footsteps and become future leaders.”
