AS companies move to more environmentally friendly products, Johnnie Walker will be packaged in paper bottles from 2021.
According to Yahoo News, drinks companies develop paper bottles to minimise pollution and make items more sustainable.
It stated that Johnnie Walker is sold in glass bottles and when made, this consumes energy and creates carbon emissions.
The owner of the brand, Diageo, stated that the new bottles, to be made from wood pulp and entirely recyclable, will be tested in the spring of next year.
Yahoo News reported that Diageo will co-launch a company named Pulpex, which will also produce packaging for companies like Unilever and PepsiCo.
