NINE shots were heard at Jenny’s on the Boulevard early on Tuesday morning.
Bullet holes penetrated the glass at the takeaway section of the popular establishment located at Cipriani Boulevard in Port-of-Spain.
Owner Jenny Dan-Sharma said while her business was closed due to Covid-19 regulations, there were workers inside the building when the shooting took place around 2.30am. She said no one was hurt.
She said the damage was estimated at between $12,000 to $15,000 and she does not have a clue of who would have done this.
“I don’t have a clue. I can’t say. I don’t know if it was an ex-employee or a competitor. I don’t know, ” Dan-Sharma said.
She said there was a similar incident on February 21, when three or four bullets were fired but none had hit the glass. Dan-Sharma said she hired private security after this incident.
On Friday, police had come into her business, remonstrating with her that Covid-19 regulation stated that all food establishments should be closed by 10pm. She said the incident on Friday with the police had nothing to do with what happened on Tuesday morning.
She called on the police to work with businesses to help provide better security especially in this time of the pandemic where people were being laid off and some businesses were closing down.
