The People’s National Movement (PNM) Women’s National Women’s League has expressed its sorrow over the passing of former Member of Parliament for Laventille West Nileung Hypolite.
He died on Saturday. He was diagnosed with Acute Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATL), a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Known for his unwavering commitment to public service, Hypolite dedicated his career to the advancement of his constituency, Laventille West, with a focus on education, youth development, and community empowerment, a release from the Women’s League on Monday stated.
It stated that during his tenure, Hypolite was recognised as a staunch advocate for improving the standard of living for his constituents.
He collaborated with various stakeholders to tackle community issues, demonstrating a relentless drive to uplift the area.
The release stated that beyond his parliamentary duties, Hypolite was deeply involved in local organisations, volunteering his time and resources to support youth programmes and environmental initiatives.
It stated that his contributions earned him the respect and admiration of both colleagues and citizens, marking him as a model representative and true champion for the people he served.
