HOLY Faith Convent, Penal won the National Secondary Schools Panorama title.
Screams erupted from pupils and their supporters as they were announced the winner of the competition after 7 pm on Monday at Skinner Park, San Fernando.
The top three schools are all south based.
Naparima College and Naparima Girls’ High School, combined steel orchestra placed second while Presentation College, San Fernando placed third.

Education Minister Dr Michael Dowlath, a former principal of Naparima College, and Minister of Culture Michelle Benjamin hailed the competition as a success.
This was the first time the competition was held in south. Other major Ministry of Education national Carnival events are also carded for the same venue.

Dr Dowlath told AZP News that many people from other areas expressed that they felt safe going to south and he thanked the police for a safe and enjoyable event.

Overseeing the competition was Southern Divisional Senior Superintendent Garvin Simon and his team of officers.
“I am so satisfied at the energy of the young people,” Dr Dowlath said.

Other attendees were Minister in the Ministry of Housing Phillip Alexander, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Community Development Dr Narindra Roopnarine.
In the primary schools category, St Margaret’s Boys’ Anglican School took first place, Febeau Government Primary School, second and San Fernando Boys’ RC School placed third. San Fernando Boys’ RC were last year’s champions.
