A LEAKING four-inch oil transfer pipeline has been fixed by Heritage Petroleum Company Limited.
The line caused the presence of hydrocarbons in floodwaters in Katwaroo, Ramdharry and Digity Traces, Penal.
On Friday, Heritage released a press release stating that its Incident Management Team (IMT) responded immediately when the incident occurred on Monday and has been on site conducting restoration and clean-up operations.
As floodwaters finally receded on Friday, Heritage stated that it was able to isolate and repair the source of the leak on the line.
The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries are regularly updated on the progress of the clean-up operations, the release stated.
