TRINIDAD and Tobago is under a hazardous seas alert until Saturday.
The yellow level alert warning came from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTPS) on Wednesday at 2.43 pm.
It came into effect at 4 pm the same day and is expected to end at 8 am on Saturday.
Severity is moderate.
According to the TTMS, “North-northeasterly long period swells are expected to affect the northern and northeastern near-shore coastal areas of Trinidad and Tobago. This can result in occasional battering waves in coastal regions especially during high tides.”
All marine interests should monitor near-shore / coastal sea conditions and exercise caution along affected areas especially at high tides.
The public is advised to continue to monitor updates from official sites: TTMS at www.metoffice.gov.tt and access more information and instructions from www.odpm.gov.tt.
