PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley chairs a National Security Council meeting taking place now at the Diplomatic Centre.
The Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Reginald Armour, SC, Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds, Minister of Finance Colm Imbert and Minister of Public Utilities Marvin Gonzales are in attendance.
This was stated in a post on the Office of the Prime Minister Facebook page on Friday morning.
Dr Rowley hosts the meeting as crime continues unabated in Trinidad and Tobago as police now increase patrols in east Port of Spain after a man was killed outside the Gloster Lodge Primary School, Belmont and 12-year-old student Ezekiel Paria was killed by a stray bullet in Laventille last week Thursday.
The prime minister recently attended the 46th Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government in Guyana where leaders discussed the issue of crime affecting Caribbean islands.
