THE warehouse burnt at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate on Monday night was used to store detergent and hand sanitiser.
The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) in a press release stated at around 6.20 pm the TTFS received a report of a fire at Gemini Inks Caribbean Ltd at Demerara Drive.
The TTFS stated, “Appliances immediately responded to the scene, where a single-storey warehouse building, used for the storage of ink and ink products was found well alight.”
Appliances from the Couva, Chaguanas and Mon Repos Fire Stations were all used to extinguish the blaze.
Chief Fire Officer Bristo, Acting Assistant Chief Fire Officer Harper and Acting Divisional Fire Officer Rampersad visited the scene.
