A 42-year-old Fyzabad vendor is one of four suspects charged with cocaine possession after Sunday’s anti-crime exercises.
In an early morning press release on Monday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) confirmed that four suspects, two from Fyzabad and two from Tobago, were arrested during anti-crime exercises conducted in the Southern, South Western and Tobago Divisions on Sunday.
In the Southern and South Western Division, an intelligence-led operation, conducted between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm, resulted in two arrests and the discovery of an illegal firearm.
The TTPS stated a 42-year-old Fyzabad vendor was arrested for possession of cocaine for trafficking. In a separate search, a 25-year-old vendor, also of Fyzabad, was arrested for possession of cocaine.
Officers also discovered and seized a Smith and Wesson revolver and two rounds of ammunition during their search of an abandoned shopping cart in La Romain.
In the Tobago Division, an exercise carried out between 5 pm and 7 pm in the Scarborough district by officers of the Divisional Task Force, Area West, two suspects were arrested for being in possession of quantities of cocaine.
Investigations into the matters were ongoing.
