A SECURITY guard allegedly shot a man who was attempting to rob a woman of her vehicle at Long Circular Mall on Wednesday.
Reports are that the man allegedly robbed the woman of her white Nissan Tiida just after 12 noon while she was at the upper level of the car park.
However, he was met by an armed SWAT guard when he attempted to exit the lower level of the mall onto Long Circular Road, St James.
The guard allegedly fired at the bandit, who reportedly pointed a gun at the guard.
The man fled the car and ran a few steps before he collapsed and died at the scene.
The car crashed into a fence.
His gun was taken by the SWAT officers and handed over to the police, who later visited the scene.
