THE top cop is warning promoters about having events that could turn into mass gatherings.
In a release on Monday, Griffith said the country was still facing the Covid-19 pandemic and that positive cases were being recorded.
He said as soon as he got real time information about an event taking place on the compound of Passage to Asia in Chaguanas, on Saturday, he acted immediately.
Griffith said people were placing photographs and videos on social media which may not be current.
He said, “What this does is to send the police on a wild goose chase only to find out that the photographs and videos were old.”
Griffith appealed to the public that as soon as they become aware of any event that has the potential to have a mass gathering, please contact 999 or WhatsApp 482-GARY immediately.
