TWO men were arrested and a quantity of US currency seized by officers of the Emergency Response Patrol (ERP).
It happened during an anti-crime exercise, conducted in the Port of Spain Division on Tuesday.
The exercise, was conducted by officers of the ERP’s Special Response Unit around 11.20 am, on Tuesday during which they stopped a white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle with two male occupants in the vicinity of the abattoir.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding US$17,534 in cash in the possession of one of the men.
The men, ages 31, of Prizgar Lands, Laventille and 39, of Grenada, were arrested and officers of the Financial Investigations Bureau contacted to conduct enquiries into the source and intended use of the cash.
