TWO men are under arrest, and a stolen vehicle was recovered after an anti-crime exercise in the Arima District.
The two suspects, a 25-year-old man from La Horquetta and a 20-year-old man from Arima, were arrested on Wednesday by officers attached to the Northern Division Task Force, stated a Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) press release on Thursday.
According to reports at approximately 3.30 pm, officers who were conducting an anti-crime exercise in the area, responded to a report of a grey Kia Seltos taken at gunpoint from a victim at the Shops of Arima, Tumpuna Road.
TTPS stated the vehicle, which was equipped with GPS tracking, was located and a pursuit ensued. Reports stated the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into nearby bush terrain along the Heights of Guanapo Road, Arima.
Officers caught up with the suspects, both men were arrested and the vehicle recovered.
Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
