GERMAN backpacker Tilo Kruse, trying to showcase the benevolence of Trinidadian people, found himself in the midst of an alleged assault and robbery attempt during his trek from Toco to Icacos on Wednesday.
The incident that happned on the Toco Main Road, saw Kruse ambushed by two assailants emerging from bushes.
In a TikTok video recounting the ordeal, Tilo said he was tackled to the ground, with one of the perpetrators making a grab for his cellphone.
However Kruse said as the device slipped from the robber’s grasp, he grabbed it.
A passing motorist intervened and rescued Kruse who made a report to the police station.
