A Gasparillo has been arrested after being found with 50 rounds of ammunition.
On Wednesday, a media release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated the 24-year-old man from Riverdale Gardens, Harmony Hall, Gasparillo, was found to be in possession of 50 rounds of .40 calibre ammunition.
The discovery and arrest was made by officers of the San Juan Criminal Investigations Department, the North Eastern Division Task Force, and the North Eastern Division Gang Intelligence Unit.
The TTPS stated, in a direct response to “a recent upsurge in violent crimes recorded in the Mt. Hope area” an anti-crime exercise was executed on October 7, between 6 pm and 12 midnight. This exercise led to the discovery and seizure of the ammunition and the arrest of the suspect.
The seized ammunition was being processed by the North Eastern Division Crime Scene Investigations Unit. Enquiries are ongoing.
