STATE game licenses are now available as the hunting season is about to be opened.
The Ministry of Agriculture in a media release stated that the Conservator of Forests/Chief Game Warden stated that the hunting of designated wildlife will commence on October 1, 2022, and end on February 28, 2023.
From Monday, the licenses will be available between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm, Monday to Friday at the various Forestry Division offices in Trinidad and Tobago.
A State Game License is a ‘permit’ to hunt a particular species or group of animals listed under the Second Schedule of the Conservation of Wildlife Act during October 1 to February 27 or February 28. The State Game License is not transferable and must be produced upon demand by a Game Warden, including Honorary Game Warden, Forest Officer and Constables.
The Ministry thanked all hunters for their continued support and reminded persons to be responsible to ensure a safe and successful hunting season.
