BBC reported that the country’s Health Minister Oliver VĂ©ran warned that the country had between 400 and 500 active clusters of the virus.

In fact, cases in the north-west and in eastern regions, particularly in the north-western department of Mayenne, were on the rise and last week, authorities started calling for mandatory face mask restrictions.

Masks were already compulsory on public transport, but from Monday they must also be worn in places like shops.
