THE Central Statistical Office (CSO) released the November 2025 update to the Consumer Price Index, showing a 0.5% year-over-year inflation rate for November 2025, up slightly from 0.4% in October 2025.
The annual rate for November 2024 versus November 2023 also stood at 0.5%.
The All Items Index for November 2025 stood at 125.2, up 0.3 points, or 0.2%, from October 2025.
Inflation and price changes were driven largely by food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The sub-index for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages rose from 152.2 in October 2025 to 152.8 in November 2025, a 0.4% increase.
Price movements within this category were mixed: higher prices for cucumber, tomatoes, fresh carite, chives, garlic, mixed fresh seasoning, table margarine, cheddar cheese, melon, and instant coffee pushed the sub-index higher, while declines in fresh whole chicken, Irish potatoes, ochroes, oranges, pumpkin, mauby, melongene, onions, and various local pastries moderated the overall rise.
In contrast, the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco sub-index surged, up 21.2% compared with October 2025, contributing to higher broader inflation. Other notable movements included a 0.3% decrease in Clothing and Footwear and a 0.1% decline in Health. All other sections were unchanged.
