Flow Trinidad donates more than 2,200 care package items to The Shelter for Battered Women and Children.
This was done in recognition of International Women’s Day 2021, a release from Flow stated on Thursday.
The release stated, “Considering the research which showed that the Covid-19 pandemic has led to an unprecedented increase in domestic violence, the team at Flow Trinidad decided to provide tangible assistance to the residents of the local shelter which provides a safe haven for victims (women and children) of the domestic violence.
“Staff members rallied together, over a two-week period, to donate items needed by the shelter in an effort to support those in this disadvantageous circumstance.”

Shelter chairman Scott Hamilton said, “Words cannot express how thankful we are for the support of Flow and its staff’s generosity.
“At a time when persons’ disposable incomes have been significantly reduced, it is truly heartwarming to see your staff members giving attitude.”
Among the items donated to form part of care packages for the residents of the shelter were shampoo and conditioner, body wash and soap, body lotion, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste/brushes, sanitiser and baby products.
Manager Communications of Flow Yolande Agard-Simmons said, “The donation is just a small gesture of support to the gratuitous work of the shelter.”
